Who I Am
I’m Andrew Garcia—an artist and muralist who blends street art roots, military discipline, and community-driven storytelling. Through Welcoming Murals, I create impactful public art that uplifts spaces, whether it’s painting military insignias or transforming overlooked walls into meaningful landmarks.
My Journey
I started with graffiti, driven by raw creativity. After serving over five years in the Army, I discovered the power of art in building morale and beautifying communities. During my time at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, I began painting murals that merged street art with military pride. That led me to earn my BFA in Graphic Design and launch Welcoming Murals, where I combine wall printing, painting, and storytelling to make public art more accessible.
Mission
Welcoming Murals is built on resilience, adaptability, and purpose. I focus on murals that speak directly to their environment—whether a military base honoring its legacy or a neighborhood wall carrying a message of growth, courage, and hope. I believe every military installation, from the main HQ to individual companies, should have the opportunity to proudly showcase their insignia. That’s why I offer different mural options—so no matter the budget, there’s always a way to bring these symbols to life.
